Open Home: Lake Hayes

Our second Open Home with Dulux heads to a Passive house outside Arrowtown.

We were delighted by the response to our first open home in May, held atΒ {Finally a} Court House, by Spacecraft Architects in Berhampore, Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington.Β

‍

Next up in the series – hosted in association with our friends at Dulux – we’re heading to Central Otago, to the home and studio of SiΓ’n Taylor and Mark Read at Lake Hayes.Β For tickets, click here.

‍

The house, which featured onΒ the cover of Here Issue 02, is located on a beautiful site looking up to Coronet Peak. The couple, both architects, have built a small, hard-working Passive house that embodies both a sense of both fun and enclosure.

‍

Downstairs, two bedrooms and a lofty living area; upstairs a studio and second living area. Outside, rolling hills and mountain views. While small, the house has exactly as much as the family needs.Β

‍

Open Home is your chance to experience houses you’ve previously only seen in print, and to talk to the architects who designed them. We can’t wait to see you there.Β
