Have a Seat

New designs by Bensen are in fine company at Tim Webber.

Bensen was founded in 1981 in Vancouver, Canada by Danish designer Niels Bendtsen and is known for furniture with refined and minimalist lines and an emphasis on elegance and versatility. Focussing on craftsmanship and attention to detail, the brand produces pieces that are a harmony of design, manufacturing and function.

You could quite easily swap out the name and use similar descriptions for the work of New Zealand designer Tim Webber. Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Webber produces a range of clean-lined, minimalist furniture that is beautifully made. You may not realise he also brings in select pieces from like-minded international designers – including Bensen.

New to the Bensen collection – and to Webber’s Grey Lynn store – is the Circa range of seating which includes dining chairs, lounge chairs and stools all defined by a semi-circular curve. It’s simple but powerful: a graceful design with a tailored appearance.

Similarly, the Collar chair is both clean-lined and supremely comfortable, featuring a crisp perimeter which wraps around you, with a generous seat and multiple foam densities working in tandem. With a choice of metal tubing or timber base, the chair can adapt to a variety of uses and interior-design styles with ease.
