Grounding Comfort

A new array of soft furnishings by Baya reflects the different rhythms of domestic life.

Baya’s 2026 winter collection isn’t about chasing the next trend. Instead, it explores a refreshingly simple idea: contemporary design that genuinely reflects the way people live.

Head designer Hannah Middleton has anchored this season with material integrity, deep colour, and the comforting nuance of texture. These are pieces built to endure, slowly shaping the experience of a home over time. This approach underpins the entire collection, entitled Crafted for Living. The concept unfolds across five moments – Crafted for Connection, Expression, Everyone, Playing and Imagination – each positioning the home as a vibrant, warm space full of personality and movement, and reflecting the different rhythms of domestic life.

At the heart of the collection is a range of four new wool rugs, designed not as an afterthought but as a foundation. The philosophy is clear: honest materials, generous scale, and colourways that feel effortless in a room.

The new collection reintroduces the popular Norfolk rug in a large 350x350-centimetre size and Olive colour, hand-tufted from pure wool with a deep 27-millimetre pile, and a carved border to define modern open living spaces. Alongside this, the Anni rug in rich Chocolate offers depth through a subtle cut-and-loop construction in 100-percent New Zealand wool, featuring an offset linear pattern for relaxed structure. The Hugo rug in Toffee provides a more graphic, thoughtful element in a checkerboard made up of contrasting cut-pile sections in handwoven New Zealand wool, making a statement with elegant restraint. Completing the collection is the Sandringham rug in Oxblood, an earthy red loom-knotted from pure wool that adds immediate warmth and depth with its soft cut pile and fine fringing for a calm and refined effect.

Across all four designs, the approach is consistent: natural fibres, considered colour, and construction that champions comfort just as much as form. These pieces are meant to sit at the centre of a room, influencing both how it feels and how it looks. Winter 2026 is a continuation of Baya’s focus on thoughtful craftsmanship and everyday function – design that truly considers how we gather, rest, move, and grow within our homes.
